Decided to add up my hours and it came out to exactly 20 so I thought it deserved a HP screenshot.
A screen shot with my minimal progress here, which equals about 1/15th of the scarf. :( And that’s about six and a half hours already, folks. FOREVER. It’s going to take forever…
Step 2! #CurrentlyOnMyNails
Also on the recently unabandoned sd card was my deep-breath-here-we-go harry potter scarf beginning!
Okay, here’s my color change. I basically used the same technique as I do with crocheting by finishing the last stitch with the next color. I think it’ll work all right…
A very messy color change, this.
Anybody know of a good tutorial that shows the best way to change color with EVEN striping, like on the other side?
Okay, here’s how I did with the oopsies! Not terrible - I didn’t have to start all over anyway. :)
Now to tackle changing colors…
Swatch #3.5 - I had an unfixable oopsie (for me) about four rows in, so I just started over. My stitches are still a little wonky, presumably because my tension isn’t suitably consistent (yet), but this is definitely progress! I do believe I’ve also figured out how to do the slip-the-first-stitch edging that’s had me buffaloed thus far. Next up? Tackling fixing those terrifying little oopsies like dropped stitches and pulling the whole dadgum needle out by accident like I did on that second swatch when things got crazy… Wish me luck. :(
So this hot little mess is my first attempt at relearning how to knit (again)! Clearly, I had some trouble getting started - we’ll see how I do on the next swatch…
DH and I recently flew out to CA for his grandmother’s funeral, and I decided to try my hand at making some flower memorial beads with some of the flowers at the service. If they are successful (my first attempts with flowers from our trip to Savannah were rather ugly, but I still have hope) I intend to make a rosary bracelet for his mother.
